Introduction

My name is Brent Borochoff and I am a senior at the University of Texas at Austin. I knew I had a niche for computers at an early age because my Dad got me involved and interested before I could read. I've also always had an entrepreneurship quality about me; when I was thirteen I bought computer parts whole-sale, built 20 computers, and sold them all to friends and family-friends. This kind of back-fired on me though because from that day on any user-related problems were automatically assumed as being hardware issues by my customers (and friends) so I had to act as the permanent (and free-of-charge) repair man for the next 5 years. Also when I was thirteen, I took a Desktop Publishing class in which we studied Photoshop and within 3 weeks of class I had completed all of the coursework for the class and the teacher had me doing "independent study" work which was basically me going through hundreds of internet tutorials By the end of the class I was teaching my teacher stuff! In high school I took four years of Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) classes where I worked doing mostly mechanical modeling but had the chance to dip into 3D Studio Max for one of my projects, an architectural walkthrough of a house. This is the part I loved the most, modeling in 3DsMax and animating. I was pressured by everyone (parents, teachers, friends) to start my studies in Engineering because engineers utilize what I had been working on; I come to find out though that engineering is 99% more calculus and physics than actual drafting or modeling, so after giving a shot at computer-science (which didn't interest me much because I don't want to be the maker of software, but instead a professional software operator), I find myself in the Radio, Television, and Film department. My goal is to become a computer animator and someday work for Disney's Pixar making movies that I loved as a child and movies I actually still love today such as Toy Story.
